THINGS THAT MUST BE SAID [*updated*]
H

ere's an example of why we still need people like John Bolton at the United Nations. Straight, honest talk is almost unheard of in those hallowed halls, and likely hasn't been heard since the new US congresscritter leadership booted him from his job in one of their very first "victories" over the administration.

Until March 23rd, that is, when inconvenient truths were spoken to the UN "Human Rights" Council by the director of UN Watch, Hillel Neuer. The Council had been founded to replace the biased, inept and loaded with human rights abusing nations, UN "Human Rights" Commission. The new council, of course is still biased, inept and still loaded with human rights abusing nations.

Here are some examples of statements from member states which are fully acceptable and worthy of thanks from the council president, followed by the short address to the council from Mr. Neuer. His words were concise, sharp and inconveniently true. This was not acceptable to the president of the council, as they did not conform to the council's agenda of ignoring problems in all countries but one.

Tibet gets a mention, but of course that's not the one. You should need only one guess for which country has been, and will continue to be, the council's solitary target.

Wai lgf, and a very big wai to UN Watch for shining the light.

UPDATE: Listen to a great podcast interview with Hillel Neuer at Shire Network News. Wai AP.
