DAW SUU ON MRTV
O

n Wednesday this week, Aung San Suu Kyi was allowed to meet some of her party members, and "Minister for Relations" Aung Kyi at a military guest house. Thursday night, MRTV carried a brief report. The only pictures of these events are the ones the junta releases, so it seemed worthwhile to save. The junta's newscasts are incredibly tedious, and no actual information should be expected from them.

We have only a few brief glimpses of the Burmese democracy leader, although Aung Kyi gets his close-up shot. The story is followed by an even briefer report on a meeting in Nay Pyi Daw of a group known as the "Myanmar Human Rights Committee." Basically, it's a collection of military men -- get a load of the chairman, a Major General (and Minister for Home Affairs). The narrator's description is too good not to transcribe:
Major General Maung Oo said that Human Rights Committee is carrying out necessary measure to get human right in Myanmar, and preventing unnecessary things not to suffer on human rights.
The minister even gave a concluding speech. These news bulletins are absolutely content-free! Well, here it is for what it's worth.
