LIGHT AND SOUND OF FREEDOM
| I |
t may have been a Sufi poet who once said, "It's better to light a candle, than to curse the darkness."
Candles for Tibet's freedom were lit in around 150 countries, in the hours before Beijing's party kicked off on Friday night.
Tibetan singer Yungchen Lhamo gave freedom a sound, as she opened the vigil in New York City, where freedom still reigns. For Tibet, where it doesn't.
With a Tibetan song, a Buddhist chant, not cursing the darkness.

Our way of saying "thanks" in the Thai way. Here a nak muay Thai (kickboxer) offers respect and thanks for his teacher (wai khru) before a match. This is our local variation on the ubiquitous "hat tip" used in general blog culture.
